This year, Guide Dogs for the Blind’s annual summer camp for teens who are blind or visually impaired kicked off in perfect harmony with the Summer Solstice. As the longest day of the year unfolded, so did a week of sun-soaked adventures, meaningful connections, and hands-on learning about the guide dog lifestyle that left lasting memories for everyone involved.
Each year, a unique gathering unfolds on the San Francisco waterfront—where fine wine, great food, live music, and good company come together in support of Guide Dogs for the Blind. Paws for Pinot, hosted by the team at Epic Steak, has become a cherished tradition, raising awareness and funds for the mission of Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Our puppy raisers and pups have been busy participating in airport outings! Whether that's the hustle and bustle of an airport terminal; the procedures of passing through a TSA checkpoint; or settling nicely in the cabin of an aircraft, giving guide dog puppies these encounters help set them up for success in their future careers.
What could be better than a sunny afternoon filled with wagging tails and sweet treats? If you’ve ever dreamed of raising a guide dog puppy, our Puppy Raising Info Meeting & Ice Cream Social is the perfect way to dip your paws in the water—plus, there’s ice cream. For everyone.

“Rupert is my fifth guide dog. When I think of the accomplishments that I’ve made, what’s made the difference is having a guide dog at my side. It’s just made my life so much more fulfilling, and I thank Guide Dogs for the Blind for that.” – GDB graduate Mary Flanagan with Rupert
