For 44 years, Ginger Anderson has shared the joy of tap dancing with students of all ages, creating lasting connections along the way. Among her many students, two stand out—Amelia Diaz and Cristina Ana Jones. Their bond goes beyond dance and blossomed into a lifelong friendship rooted in mutual respect and intertwined with their connection to Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB).
Guided by Love: A Journey of Independence and Connection
Vickie Kennedy has always lived a life full of curiosity and connection, but when she traveled with a white cane, she felt disconnected from others. That all changed when she was paired with her first guide dog, Freida, 25 years ago.
We’re just a few weeks away from GDB’s first annual Walk for PAWSitive Impact, April 26-27. But don’t worry, there’s still time to get involved, fundraise, and support GDB’s life-changing mission! Here are two ways you can make a difference:
1. Create a fundraiser on our PAWSitive Impact site, share your story, and invite others to support your walk.
Guide Dogs for the Blind is excited to celebrate National Volunteer Week, April 20-26, a time to recognize and appreciate the contributions of our 3,000+ extraordinary volunteers. These dedicated individuals support our mission in countless ways: as campus volunteers, breeder custodians, puppy raisers, foster care providers, office helpers, docents, and much more. Simply put, we couldn’t do what we do without them.
“GDB has given us another chance in life with a life partner, a fuzzy friend, and I thank you. I have blindness but blindness does not have me because of GDB.” - Dorna Cyrus with third guide dog, Cezanne.
