Meet GDB Client and Alumni Board Member Cheri Owen

For Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) Client and Alumni Board member Cheri Owen, having her guide dog, Martinez, in her life is a slam dunk. The former collegiate basketball athlete says Martinez has given her a new level of confidence. “I feel like no matter where we go, we’re a team. ”These days, Cheri volunteers as a life coach and mentor to student athletes.

K9 Buddy, Shakespeare, is a Poetic Match for GDB Client

“I would not wish any companion in the world but you.” William Shakespeare’s quote from The Tempest about love and companionship is the perfect description of K9 Buddy, Shakespeare.

Paul Robertson recently received his beloved K9 Buddy at age 81 and says he can’t imagine life without his black Lab.
